Fibre Installations.
Scope of Work
Build Smart Management Group is a Turnkey Fibre contractor. We cater for all your fibre installation needs from trenching and laying of infrastructure all the way to connections in businesses (FTTB) and homes (FTTH). Our key value is to build long term relationships with our clients by providing exceptional services through innovation and advanced technology
Civils
Underground Our Civils teams have experience in fibre optic trenching, duct laying and sleeve installation. We also offer Site surveys and evaluation, installation of manholes, micro trenching, trenching and reinstatement of tar and concrete. The reinstatement process is very important to us, hence Soil compaction testing is mandatory before any site can be passed off as complete.
Aerial Fiber
In places where trenching is impossible we offer aerial fiber installations through use of existing infrastructure or installation of new poles.
Splicing
At BSMG through our highly skilled techs, we offer complete fibre optic installation services with a unique combination of design and installation to help optimize network performance. We design, install, test and trouble- shoot fibre networks. Multi- and Single-mode fusion splicing. We are able to carry out fibre optic fault finding and fibre optic testing using an OTDR and visible light source on various fibre cables.
Floating / Blowing
We offer Cable floating/Blowing which is the process of blowing a cable through a duct while simultaneously pushing the cable into the duct. Compressed air is injected at the duct inlet and flows through the duct and along the cable at high speed. The high speed air propels the cable due to drag forces and pressure drop. BSMG makes use of the ]\latest technology and equipment which in turn translate to efficiency.
DIT - Testing
After backfilling ducts shall be tested for integrity (air tightness and kink-free shape). Air tightness test is done by pressurizing duct. One end of duct will be closed and compressed air is sent from the other end. At about5kg/cm2 pressure the inlet of compressed air will be closed. Fall in pressure should not be more than 50% in 1 (one) hour. To check that duct has not collapsed or kinked, a wooden cylindrical piece (shuttle) is blown into the duct with far end fitted with Flexible wire grip/stocking. The wooden shuttle should pass through duct at far end without any obstruction.
